Clear Ponderosa Pine

"B" Grade

Known in the business as Pondi or Pondo, this is the most popular of the Western clear pines, and a predominant species in the West.

This pine is absent of mineral streaks, giving it a very clear, consistent appearance.

In fact, all of the clear pines we provide are quite similar in both use and appearance. For many jobs, it is easy to interchange this species with Clear Idaho White Pine and Clear Sugar Pine.

There are subtle differences between these types of wood, and at times it may be preferable to use just one variety.

Some of the favorite uses for this species include window parts, profile-wrapped mouldings and jambs.
