"B" Grade, SM

Generally free from pitch streaks, this wood has a very consistent and pleasing appearance.

Our Hemlock is sliced in vertical grain only, so it does not show any knots. This wood is prized for conformity because the color does not change between the heartwood and sapwood. This wood comes in a rich tan, or even a beautiful orange-tinged hue.

In many ways, this species is similar to Douglas Fir. The two species have similar uses, and can be paired together in many jobs.

Hemlock is quite popular for use in doors, door jambs, windows, moldings, panels and cabinetry.
